I agree with you, after a short while I got the hang of the A button and what it did combined with the correct analog combinations. Overall it works really well, especially considering how many actions are tied to it. I haven't played Resistance yet, but it is on the way with my PS3 so I am very excited to check it out. But yeah, they are both completely different. Gears of War is much more tactical, and "deeper," but I'm not sure if that's the word I'm looking for. Resistance ...
Darx- What are you sorry about?
I agree, I've also seen some mainstream news articles mentioned rampant overheating in PS3's, and I haven't seen that anywhere online. I've seen people mention some problems with hard drives or stuff like that, but no "rampant problems". If you're like me, then you've got the extended warranty anyway.
HD-DVD winning? I just don't see that happening. I mean, I guess it could, but I don't see how. Apple and Dell are going to start rolling out their new computers wi...
This game looks great. The build in stores is too slow, IMO. It is fun, but feels like it should be running as fast as it is in this video. I'm sure it will be a great game, possibly a killer app such as Gears of War. I'll definitely give credit to Gears of War. Beat it with one of my friends this last weekend on co-op. Great campaign, good use of the A button for multiple actions (frustrating occasionally), camera got a little crazy when confined and got me killed a couple times, bad e...
Umm... this is over a year old, is this news?
I hear you. I've been looking forward to this one for a while. Lair is also one that I'm looking forward to.
Gears of War is making me think about getting a 360. Beat it this weekend with my friend on co-op. Enjoyed the game a lot, until the ending. The game was great, but the ending was too easy and ended too fast. I'll end up getting a 360 eventually, but just probably not for a while.
Coming from you that's saying a lot. :) Too bad I can't look at the pics at work since it's in a forum and it's blocked. I take it they're finally showing new environments?
We'll have to agree to disagree. Promising online multiplayer at launch or not, it's still unacceptable in my eyes with the current dynamics of the gaming market. Nintendo is proving to be stubborn once again in my eyes, it doesn't seem like much has changed from Gamecube online in my eyes, as far as multiplayer support is concerned. We'll see if the existing online support will keep gamers entertained for 5 months or so until the first online multiplayer supported games start coming out. ...
That's just an excuse for not having multiplayer ready for launch. Why are these kinds of delays ok for Nintendo, but if Sony had done the same thing we'd be hearing bloody murder from all the gamers? Yes, it may be fun to play in groups. If I and my family had a Wii right now, how would we be expected to play together when we live 600 miles away?
No multiplayer at launch, no games supporting multiplayer until 5 months after launch sounds like a rush job and that the online has quite a ways to go. If they're trying to improve on the Gamecube's online presence (i.e. none), they're not doing a very good job. Hope they get things going.
God of War 1 and 2 are being made by Sony Santa Monica. Won't be released on any other system, no doubt about that. Sony owns all the rights to the franchise, so I'm sure the third will either be on PS2, PS3, or PS3/PS2.
Played Gears of War on co-op this weekend with my buddy, he had to do the firmware update. Actually right before he did it he got the three rings of death, so I had him unplug the hard drive, all the cables etc for a few minutes. We tried to do Gears of War and it locked up twice, then when we got it to go, I think the lens jacked up the disc as there it was scratched in a circle right next to the edge and the disc couldn't be read. Anyway, had to take the disc back to Blockbuster and go t...
It's good for you that you have free demos on the 360. Go enjoy them, if you don't like something, you don't have to comment on it. I already showed you were wrong, why do you persist in making yourself look like you don't know what you're talking about?
Umm, the concept demo is going to be a free download as will any later demos they put out on the GT HD concept.
UrbanJabroni- Couldn't agree with you more. This is great news, glad they're not wasting any more time on an upgraded PS2 game. Now they can focus on hopefully getting damage in the game, full online play, etc...
Me too actually, thinking about picking that up on PS3 when I get one...
Tut- Yeah I know it may not be possible to impliment the "ignore posts by this user" due to technical reasons, and that's fine. There are other ways to resolve the spam on here and the persons who are blatent fanboys that don't contribute anything to discussions. One of them is as you mentioned having community mods. Anything to resolve it would be great, IMO.
Great news. Please add the "ignore posts by this user" option if at all possible. That's one thing that I would really like to see.
I was hoping more and thinking that the successor to Kutaragi would be Phil Harrison, but Hirai is a good fit as well for the position.
That crab joke is so old, and just not funny anymore... :)
Actually, this is probably a good move. The rumor is that Kutaragi was not responsive to third parties when they came to him about making certain games exclusive. Kaz Hirai and SCEA was known more for caring about online play, so hopefully he'll be able to unify SCEA, SCEE, and SCEJ and work on securing exclusives.
All I'm asking for is moderation of the fanboys here. Have you actually read all of the comments on this thread? It's ridiculous. I don't hate gamers, just fanboys. I wish people would just respect something even if they don't care for it, I try to do the same on other games or systems that I don't care for. End of my rant.
Yeah I'm not sure why the major studios aren't putting out combo Blu-ray/DVD discs yet either. The discs are available, just not being used by the Blu-ray supporting studios.
